Rainbow Falls Provincial Park | Ontario

Rainbow Falls Provincial Park is a 575.59 hectare recreational park established in 1963. Ontario Parks lists two gatehouse areas on the official page: Whitesand Lake and Rossport.

The park's official visitor story is split between inland lake camping and Lake Superior shoreline camping. Ontario Parks says visitors can camp at Whitesand Lake or along the rugged Lake Superior shore at the Rossport Campground location.

Why Visit Rainbow Falls Provincial Park

Rainbow Falls is a strong page for north shore travellers looking for camping, hiking, lake views, and water activities. Ontario Parks highlights trails that lead to panoramic views of Lake Superior and Whitesand Lake.

The water options are also distinct. Visitors can take part in water sports in the warmer inland waters of Whitesand Lake or use the cooler Lake Superior waters at Rossport. The activity and facility icons list car camping, electrical sites, RV pull-through sites, seasonal campsite rental, canoe rentals, canoeing, fishing, hiking, swimming, dog beach, and trailer dump/fill stations.

That makes Rainbow Falls a multi-use operating park, not just a waterfall stop. Campground choice should be part of planning because Whitesand Lake and Rossport offer different settings.

The trail viewpoints over both Lake Superior and Whitesand Lake are the official scenic anchor.
