Plan Ogoki River Provincial Park with remote canoeing, angling, hunting, wildlife viewing, backcountry camping, outpost camps, and Ontario Parks links.

Ogoki River Provincial Park is a 23,250 hectare waterway park east of the Ogoki Reservoir, about 80 kilometres north of Nakina and 150 kilometres north of Geraldton. Ontario Parks lists the park as established in 2004.

Ontario Parks says the Ogoki River is designated as a waterway class park because of its natural features, recreational water route, and ability to provide high-quality recreational and educational experiences.

Why Visit Ogoki River Provincial Park

Ogoki River is a strong page for visitors researching remote northern waterway travel. The park includes a diversity of upland and wetland vegetation features, as well as a number of glacial features.

The official page describes it as an important recreational waterway that offers remote tourism and recreation opportunities: angling, hunting, wildlife viewing, backcountry camping, and canoeing in a scenic environment.

Facility expectations are specific but not frontcountry. Ontario Parks says outpost camps are the major facilities in the park. That means visitors should plan around remote access, outfitting or outpost logistics, and current regulations rather than expecting a standard campground gateway.

Its educational value comes from combining a recreational water route with wetland, upland, and glacial features along the same corridor.

Things To Do

Plan around canoeing, backcountry camping, angling regulation checks, hunting regulation checks, wildlife viewing, wetland and upland habitat awareness, glacial feature study, and outpost camp logistics.

Planning Notes

Confirm access, maps, outpost camp details, permits, water levels, fishing and hunting regulations, weather, alerts, emergency planning, and park rules through Ontario Parks. Before leaving, recheck official notices so access, parking, reservations, weather, and seasonal rules still match your route and timing.
