Limestone Islands Provincial Park is a 450 hectare nature reserve in Georgian Bay, fourteen miles west of Parry Sound. Ontario Parks lists the park as established in 1980 and notes that it protects two limestone islands in a region more often associated with granitic bedrock and wind-swept pines.
The park is not a conventional island day-use destination. Its value is ecological: flat, low-lying shelves of pitted limestone support shrubby and herbaceous vegetation, and the islands provide valuable undisturbed nesting habitat for several colonial waterbird species.
