République Provincial Park is at 31 Isidore-Boucher Boulevard in Edmundston, on the shores of the Madawaska River. NB Parks says the park is currently closed and will reopen on May 15, 2026.
République is a compact recreation park with a family-focused facility list. The official page describes a 44 ha, or 108-acre, park with more than 150 campsites, including 100 with electricity. Visitors can also stay in rustic shelters or Ch-A-Lets.
The amenity mix is broad for a park this size. NB Parks lists walking and cycling trails, two volleyball courts, an outdoor playground, tennis and pickleball courts, horseshoe pits, a boat ramp, dock, picnic sites, picnic shelter, laundry room, indoor playroom, swimming pool, and convenience store.
The New Brunswick Botanical Garden is the other major reason to plan time here. The official page says the garden is a peaceful oasis on more than 8 ha, or 20 acres, of park land. Trail notes also connect the park with the Petit-Témis route along the Madawaska River, linking New Brunswick with Quebec and the rest of Canada.
The closure date should be checked again if your trip is close to opening weekend.
Plan around camping, rustic shelters, Ch-A-Lets, cycling, walking, volleyball, tennis, pickleball, horseshoes, playground time, swimming pool use, boating access, picnics, the Botanical Garden, and Petit-Témis trail context.
Confirm the May 15, 2026 reopening, campsite reservations, pool status, court and boat-ramp availability, Botanical Garden hours, pet rules, maps, weather, and NB Parks notices before travelling.
