The post office used the name Saint-Jules-de-Beauce in the same period to distinguish it from another Saint-Jules in Gaspe.
The Commission de toponymie notes that settlement grew gradually before the Quebec Central Railway helped create a small village cluster. Agriculture and sugar bushes then became lasting parts of the local economy and landscape, which explains why Saint-Jules still reads as a compact rural community rather than a highway service centre.
