Operating daily from May to October, this tour is suitable for adventurers aged 5 and above.
Our journey begins on the Tide Runner, a 24-foot rigid hulled Zodiac Hurricane™. After a brief trip briefing and donning your Mustang™ flotation suit, we set sail to explore the bays and channels of the West Isles. As we navigate through these waters, you'll be surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the landscape and a diverse array of bird and marine life.
The Bay of Fundy, known for the world's highest twice-daily tides, is a haven for several species of migratory whales. These include the Minke, Finback, Humpbacks, and the rare North Atlantic Right Whale. Our tour offers an excellent chance of sighting one or more of these magnificent creatures. In addition to whales, you may also encounter harbour seals, harbour porpoises, Atlantic puffins, bald eagles, razorbill auks, black guillemots, and other pelagic sea birds.
Our whale sightings generally begin around mid-June and continue strong until mid-October. The Minke whales are the first to arrive, followed by the Finbacks, and finally, the Humpbacks make their appearance in July or August. Our sighting rate is usually between 95-100% once the season starts. Right whales, a rare sight, generally only appear in late September/October. While we can't guarantee sightings, we can assure you that any trip on the beautiful Bay of Fundy will be an experience you'll never forget.
Located in a century-old loft in the Day Adventure Centre beside Market Wharf in St. Andrews, New Brunswick, Fundy Tide Runners has been providing safe and enjoyable whale watching adventures since 1995. Our vessels slow or stop to allow passengers to observe local wildlife, take photos, and ask questions.
