Why Visit Silver Star Park
Silver Star is a four-season trail park. In summer, BC Parks lists hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, wildflower viewing, and nature study on more than 50 kilometres of hiking trails, many linked to the resort trail system. Early July to mid-August is noted for extensive flower displays in the subalpine meadows.
In winter, the park becomes a cross-country skiing and snowshoeing destination, with about 60 kilometres of trails that connect to the Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre. Backcountry shelters include the Black Prince Cabin, the Alder Point warming shelter, and the Silver Queen day-use shelter.
Things To Do
Hike, mountain bike on designated routes, ride horses on trails where allowed, watch wildlife, ski, snowshoe, toboggan in the day-use area, and use warming shelters for day trips. Dogs are allowed only on leashes on designated pet-friendly trails and are not allowed in cabins or shelters.
Planning Notes
Camping, fires, and trail grooming by visitors are prohibited in the park. Winter users need a trail ticket or season pass to use the groomed trail system, and pets are not allowed on groomed winter trails. E-bikes are allowed only on roads and motorized-use areas, not trails. Check trail maps, weather, and avalanche or winter conditions before travelling.
