Plan Sasquatch Park near Harrison Hot Springs with lakeside camping, sandy beaches, Hicks Lake trails, paddling, fishing, waterskiing, and pet rules.
Sasquatch Park is about six kilometres north of Harrison Hot Springs in the Lower Mainland. BC Parks describes it as a landscape of pocket lakes, second-growth birch forest, mountain ridges, two lakeside campgrounds, two picnic areas, sandy beaches, and mountain hikes.
The park name refers to the legendary Sasquatch, associated locally with large reported footprints.
Why Visit Sasquatch Park
Sasquatch is one of the more activity-rich parks in this part of the Fraser Valley. Hicks Lake is a major focus, with beach areas, lakeside camping, and the four-kilometre Hicks Lake Trail looping around the water. BC Parks also lists the 800-metre Green Point day-use trail each way and the Deer Lake Trail on the east side of Deer Lake.
The lakes support swimming, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and quiet shoreline time. Hicks Lake is the only lake in the park where BC Parks lists waterskiing and windsurfing, and visitors should note that rentals are not provided in the park.
Things To Do
Camp, hike, swim without lifeguards, paddle, fish for trout at Hicks, Deer, and Trout lakes, cycle on roadways, watch wildlife, ride horses where allowed, waterski or windsurf at Hicks Lake, and use the Lakeshore Loop interpretive trail for a slower look at the landscape.
Planning Notes
Watch forest fire risk and current restrictions. ATVs are not permitted anywhere in the park. Pets must be leashed and kept out of beach areas and park buildings, and e-bikes are not allowed on trails. Check campground status, boating rules, fishing regulations, and weather before travelling.
