Plan Sabine Channel Marine Park by private boat with Jervis and Bunny islands, kayaking, camping, fishing limits, swimming, and Rockfish Conservation Areas.

Sabine Channel Marine Park includes two complete islands, Jervis and Bunny, in the Sabine Channel between Texada and Lasqueti Islands. BC Parks says the islands are part of a chain of more than 30 islands and rocky islets.

Access is by private boat only.

The park is in the Strait of Georgia off central Vancouver Island.

Why Visit Sabine Channel Marine Park

Sabine Channel offers a natural marine setting with a feeling of remoteness while remaining relatively accessible by boat. Jervis and Bunny Islands include forest ecosystems, rocky cliffs, outcrops, and shorelines surrounded by a rich marine environment.

The park is popular with kayakers and boaters, especially in summer. BC Parks also lists hiking, wilderness camping, fishing, scuba diving, nature appreciation, canoeing, swimming without a designated area, and pets on leash. The closest communities are Texada Island, Lasqueti Island, and French Creek.

Jervis and Bunny Islands combine forest ecosystems, rocky cliffs, outcrops, and marine shoreline habitat.

Things To Do

Arrive by private boat, kayak or canoe the Sabine Channel, camp in a wilderness setting, swim without lifeguards, fish under provincial and federal regulations, scuba dive if equipped, and explore the islands carefully on foot.

Planning Notes

Rockfish Conservation Areas occur within the park, so fishing activities are limited in those areas and anglers must check current Fisheries and Oceans Canada information. Pets must be leashed and kept away from beach areas and park buildings. Backcountry areas are not suitable for pets because of wildlife concerns. Check marine weather and bring self-sufficient supplies.
