Plan Rosebery Park north of New Denver with Wilson Creek camping, Slocan Lake access, nearby backcountry staging, pet rules, and no Wilson Creek fishing.

Rosebery Park is five kilometres north of New Denver and 40 kilometres south of Nakusp on Highway 6. BC Parks describes a forested creekside campground on Wilson Creek, east of Slocan Lake.

Across Slocan Lake to the west is Valhalla Park, as BC Parks notes.

BC Parks says the park was established in 1959 and is 32 hectares.

Why Visit Rosebery Park

Rosebery is primarily for camping. BC Parks calls it a secluded overnight stop for travellers or visitors seeking more adventure, with an intimate forested setting along Wilson Creek.

The park also works as a staging area for nearby backcountry exploration. BC Parks points visitors toward Valhalla, Kokanee Glacier, and Goat Range parks, plus nearby ghost-mining towns and commercial or undeveloped natural hot springs in the area. The 32-hectare park has a minor conservation role as a natural forested area bordering Wilson Creek.

The park lies in Ktunaxa/Kinbasket, Okanagan, Shuswap, Westbank, and Sinixt traditional territories.

Things To Do

Camp by reservation, rest beside Wilson Creek, use the campground as a staging base for nearby Kootenay parks, explore the New Denver and Slocan Lake area, cycle only on roadways, and keep pets leashed.

Planning Notes

Wilson Creek is closed to fishing below Burkitt Creek. Pets must be leashed, are not allowed in beach areas or park buildings, and there is no off-leash area. E-bikes are not allowed on trails and are restricted to park roads and motorized-use areas. Do not damage or remove flowers, trees, shrubs, or other natural heritage.
