Plan Rebecca Spit Marine Park on Quadra Island with beach walks, Drew Harbour anchorage, picnics, paddling, swimming, diving, cycling limits, and no potable water.

Rebecca Spit Marine Park is on a narrow hook of land on the east side of Quadra Island at Drew Harbour. Visitors reach Quadra Island by BC Ferries from Campbell River, then follow signs toward the Cortes Island ferry and the park.

BC Parks describes sandy beaches on both sides of the two-kilometre spit.

Why Visit Rebecca Spit Marine Park

Rebecca Spit is a popular day-use marine park for beach exploration, picnicking, paddling, swimming, fishing, and anchoring. The spit overlooks sheltered Drew Harbour, a favourite anchorage for boaters, while walking trails follow both sides of the landform through driftwood-rich shoreline.

Facilities include beach-view picnic tables, a grass playing field, a boat launch, and wheelchair-accessible pit toilets at the boat launch parking area and south parking lot. The park also has open uplands, second-growth trees, shrubs, grasses, and unusually high driftwood accumulations.

Things To Do

Walk the easy perimeter trail, picnic by the beach, swim without lifeguards, launch a canoe or kayak for a scenic paddle around the bay, fish under provincial and federal regulations, windsurf, and arrange cold-water scuba diving through commercial operators on Quadra Island, Campbell River, or the Comox Valley.

Planning Notes

Bring drinking water because potable water is not available. Pets must be leashed and kept away from beach areas and park buildings. Bicycles must stay on roadways and are not allowed on the spit trail; e-bikes are restricted to park roads and motorized-use areas. The sand spit is a unique natural feature, so stay on designated routes.
