Plan Plumper Cove Marine Park on Keats Island with camping, anchorage, mooring buoys, wharf, cold-water swimming, paddling, trails, boil-water advisory, and winter.

Plumper Cove Marine Park is on the northwest side of Keats Island, across Shoal Channel from Gibsons. BC Parks says it is a snug anchorage with a wharf, mooring buoys, room for anchorage, and small-boat pull-up on shore.

The park can also be reached by passenger ferry from Langdale to Keats Landing, followed by a two-kilometre walk.

Why Visit Plumper Cove Marine Park

Plumper Cove is a close-to-town marine park for boaters, paddlers, campers, hikers, swimmers, anglers, and picnickers. It has forested walk-in campsites, fire rings, water, and a trail system.

The pebble beach is used for swimming and picnicking, while Observatory Point provides views of Howe Sound and Gibsons. Hiking options include a three-kilometre trail to the Keats Landing foot ferry terminal and a one-kilometre loop trail around the park. Kayakers often access the park from Horseshoe Bay and the Sunshine Coast, and camping can be reached by boat. Tidal water fishing is available with the proper licence.

Things To Do

Camp, anchor, use the wharf or mooring buoys, swim in cold ocean water without lifeguards, picnic on the pebble beach, paddle from Horseshoe Bay or the Sunshine Coast, fish in tidal water, hike to Keats Landing, walk the loop trail, cycle on trails, and winter camp with limited services.

Planning Notes

A boil-water advisory is in effect during the operational season from mid-May to mid-September. Cash is the only payment method accepted in the park. There are no garbage facilities, so pack out all waste. Swimming or diving from the wharf is not permitted, and e-bikes are not allowed on trails.
