Okeover Arm Park is on the east side of the Malaspina Peninsula at the northern terminus of Highway 101, 19 kilometres north of Powell River. Lund is the closest community, about nine kilometres west by road.
The small campground sits on the doorstep of Desolation Sound Marine Park.
Okeover Arm is a compact coastal campground for paddlers, campers, anglers, and travellers staging trips into Desolation Sound. BC Parks lists 14 vehicle-accessible tent sites open seasonally and four small condensed sites open all year.
Visitors can canoe and kayak, search for varied marine life, walk through lightly forested upland, swim in the ocean, and fish with the proper licence. The beach is very rocky with no sand, and there are no lifeguards. Kayakers often use the park as a jumping-off point to Desolation Sound Marine Park.
The campsite and day-use area are partly on a traditional Sliammon archaeological site. BC Parks worked with the Sliammon Band to develop the site in a way that protects a large shell midden, with interpretive signs explaining significant aspects of the site.
Camp, launch paddling trips, kayak toward Desolation Sound, swim carefully from the rocky beach, fish or harvest shellfish only after checking regulations and health information, observe marine life, and read the cultural interpretive signs.
There are no developed trails, so obey posted signs. Generator use is permitted only from 9 am to 11 am and 6 pm to 8 pm. Pets must be leashed, shellfish harvesting requires extra health checks, and cultural-site features must be left undisturbed.
