Narcosli Lake Ecological Reserve is located 108 kilometres west of Quesnel in the Cariboo region. BC Parks says it was established to preserve a shallow, productive interior lake and adjacent wetland habitats for research.
The reserve includes Montane Spruce and Sub-Boreal Pine-Spruce biogeoclimatic zones, plus Nazko Upland and Western Chilcotin Upland terrestrial ecosections. Quesnel is the nearest named community.
Narcosli Lake is a conservation and research site rather than a recreation park. Ecological reserves protect special natural ecosystems and support research and education, and this reserve focuses on lake and wetland habitats.
BC Parks allows public access for non-destructive activities such as hiking, nature observation, and photography. Visitors should keep the purpose clear: observe carefully, avoid disturbing shorelines and wetlands, and do not treat the reserve as a camping, fishing, hunting, or harvesting destination. The official page includes both a reserve map and a detailed description to support education and research.
Observe shallow lake and wetland habitat, photograph without disturbing birds, plants, or shorelines, walk only where access is appropriate, and use official reserve materials to understand the research values.
Hunting, fishing, camping, foraging, and motorized vehicles are prohibited. Research and educational activities require a permit. Maps are informational and should not be used for navigation, so bring proper route planning, avoid wetland damage, leave natural materials in place, and pack out all waste. No recreation facilities are listed for visitors now, and the official map supports research-oriented planning.
