Murrin Park is on Highway 99, two kilometres north of Britannia Beach and nine kilometres south of Squamish. BC Parks says the park was established in 1962 and is known for climbing walls including the Shaman, Sugarloaf, Bog Wall, Leviticus, Petrifying Wall, and The Brunser.

Browning Lake adds swimming, picnicking, fishing, and an easy walking trail around the water.

Why Visit Murrin Park

Murrin is a busy Sea-to-Sky day-use stop for rock climbers, swimmers, anglers, picnickers, and walkers. BC Parks notes approximately 250 climbing routes, with varied climbing from novice to expert and some bolted routes. A Best Practices Guide for rock climbing route development in Squamish-area provincial parks supports climbing while protecting environment and public safety.

The lake is small but supports paddling, canoeing, and kayaking, though visitors may prefer other paddling options nearby. A sandy beach offers lake swimming, and the park remains open in winter with limited services, though access may be restricted by snow.

Things To Do

Rock climb, walk around Browning Lake, swim at the sandy beach, picnic, fish with the proper licence, paddle the small lake if appropriate, and use nearby Squamish services for rentals or broader adventure planning.

Planning Notes

Bring drinking water because potable water is not available. There is no boat launch, motor boats are not permitted, overnight parking is prohibited, and illegal parking is subject to towing. Dogs are prohibited from the main beach and picnic area, bicycles must stay on roadways, and e-bikes are not allowed on trails. Squamish is the nearest community.
