Moberly Lake Park | British Columbia

Moberly Lake Park is on the southern shore of Moberly Lake, about 25 kilometres northwest of Chetwynd on Highway 29. BC Parks describes the lake as sitting between the Rocky Mountain foothills and the Peace plateau, in the broad valley of the Moberly River.

The park has paved road access and is suited to camping, lake recreation, and quiet shoreline time.

Why Visit Moberly Lake Park

Moberly Lake is a relaxed Peace region lake park. Visitors can stroll the lakeshore, use benches for sunset watching, visit the interpretation kiosk, listen for loons, look for bald eagles, swim at the marked beach, and fish for northern pike, lake trout, and lake whitefish.

BC Parks lists fishing opportunities for northern pike, arctic grayling, mountain and lake whitefish, and lake trout, with special regulations for lake trout because they are a species of special concern. The park's forest includes white spruce, trembling aspen, balsam poplar, cottonwood, and shrubs, while wildlife may include moose, black bear, red squirrel, snowshoe hare, muskrat, beaver, and many birds.

Things To Do

Camp, swim in the marked area, canoe or kayak, fish with the proper licence, watch loons and eagles, use the interpretation kiosk, cycle on roadways, waterski, windsurf, and use the designated dog beach near the main day-use area.

Planning Notes

Off-road vehicles are prohibited. There are no lifeguards or boat rentals, pets must be leashed and kept out of day-use and beach areas except at the dog beach, and e-bikes are restricted to roads or motor-vehicle areas.
