Miracle Beach Park | British Columbia

Miracle Beach Park is on the waterfront between Courtenay and Campbell River, reached from Highway 19A near Miracle Beach Drive. BC Parks describes it as a popular family holiday destination in the Comox Valley.

The park has a broad sandy ocean beach, private campsites, group camping, a playground, hot showers, picnic areas overlooking the water, and forest trails that make it easy to mix shoreline time with shaded walks.

Why Visit Miracle Beach Park

Miracle Beach is built for classic Vancouver Island beach time. At low tide, tide pools reveal marine life, while the wide sandy beach supports swimming, sandcastle building, sunning, and shore exploring. BC Parks also notes a non-competitive annual sandcastle building day in June.

The park has about two kilometres of walking trails through second-growth and some old-growth forest, with routes from the campground and day-use parking lots. Some trails follow Black Creek and the estuary. The Nature House operates seasonally, and a viewing platform and fish weir near the BC Parks office provide salmon-viewing opportunities in spring and fall.

Things To Do

Camp, swim at the south beach day-use area, explore tide pools, walk forest and estuary trails, canoe or kayak with attention to ocean currents, fish with the proper licence, join seasonal interpretive programs, watch birds, and view Black Creek salmon.

Planning Notes

Reservations are highly recommended in summer. Replace overturned rocks, do not touch or remove shells or marine organisms, wear footwear on rocky beach areas, keep dogs out of the estuary and north beach, and keep e-bikes off trails.
