Lowe Inlet Marine Park is a boat- and floatplane-access marine park on the Inside Passage, north of Grenville Channel. BC Parks highlights Verney Falls, where the Kumowdah River drops into Lowe Inlet and salmon gather below the falls in season.
The park is about 22 kilometres north of the lower end of Grenville Channel, 75 kilometres north of Butedale, and 118 kilometres south of Prince Rupert.
Lowe Inlet is a classic north coast stop because sheltered anchorage, a dramatic waterfall, and salmon-rich waters meet in one remote inlet. Boats can anchor along the side or in front of Verney Falls, and kayakers can use the inlet as part of a larger Inside Passage route.
Wildlife viewing can be excellent when salmon are present. BC Parks notes seals, bears, eagles, and other wildlife around the lower river and falls area. The park also offers wilderness camping and marine scenery, but the experience is self-reliant: there are no urban services and conditions can change quickly on the coast.
Anchor in Lowe Inlet, kayak sheltered water, photograph Verney Falls, watch wildlife from a respectful distance, camp in wilderness style, and fish where open and permitted. Boaters should carry the proper marine chart and safety equipment.
BC Parks notes a seasonal fishing closure near the lower pool from July 1 to October 31. Bring potable water, manage food securely around bears, respect nearby reserve lands, and check marine weather before entering Grenville Channel.
