Little Andrews Bay Marine Park is on the north shore of Ootsa Lake, 95 kilometres south of Houston. BC Parks says the park provides camping and boat access to Tweedsmuir Park North.
Access is by forest service roads from Houston or Burns Lake, with the signed park entrance followed by a final two-kilometre drive to the campground.
Little Andrews Bay Marine Park is a practical Ootsa Lake base for camping, boating, fishing, and access toward North Tweedsmuir. A free-standing interpretation and information kiosk near the boat launch and wharf provides information on Andrews Bay, North Tweedsmuir, and important safety and conservation messages.
The bay itself is sheltered and suitable for smaller boats, canoes, and kayaks. Visitors who go farther onto Ootsa Lake need caution because large waves can develop suddenly and catch boaters in open water. Swimming is listed, but there are no lifeguards.
Fishing for rainbow trout can be rewarding, and hunting is listed during open seasons with normal BC regulations. The park's role as a launch and campground makes it useful for prepared travellers heading deeper into the Ootsa Lake and Tweedsmuir landscape.
Plan around lakeside camping, boat launch and wharf use, sheltered canoeing and kayaking, rainbow trout fishing, swimming, North Tweedsmuir trip planning, interpretive kiosk reading, and hunting where open and permitted.
Use extreme caution beyond the sheltered bay because Ootsa Lake waves can rise quickly. Keep pets leashed, carry required licences, and check road and park advisories before travelling.
