Kinaskan Lake Park | British Columbia

Kinaskan Lake Park is on Highway 37, about 330 kilometres north of Kitwanga and 100 kilometres south of Dease Lake. BC Parks places it at the south end of Kinaskan Lake between the Skeena and Coast Mountain ranges.

From the lake-edge campground, visitors get long views up Kinaskan Lake, with Todagin Mountain to the east and the Klastline Plateau to the west.

Why Visit Kinaskan Lake Park

Kinaskan Lake Park is a northern road-trip camping, fishing, hiking, and paddling stop with big scenery and practical highway access. BC Parks highlights good rainbow trout fishing, non-motorized paddling on Kinaskan Lake, Natadesleen Lake, and the Iskut River, and several short trail options.

The Kinaskan Lake Trail is an easy one-kilometre route on the west side of the campground. The Natadesleen Lake Trailhead is about 10 kilometres south of the campground on Highway 37; that one-kilometre trail reaches the lake and can be used as a canoe portage. From Natadesleen Lake, the Lower Cascade Falls Trail follows the river about one kilometre to Cascade Falls, a volcanic formation on the Iskut River.

The Iskut River runs through the park toward Natadesleen Lake, and the Little Iskut River branches west toward Mount Edziza Park.

Things To Do

Plan around frontcountry camping, rainbow trout fishing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, short hikes, Natadesleen Lake portaging, Cascade Falls viewing, wildlife awareness, and quiet lake photography.

Planning Notes

All recreational hunting is prohibited in the park. There is no service available at Kinaskan; the closest medical and emergency services are in Dease Lake or Stewart.
