Kekuli Bay Park is 11 kilometres south of Vernon off Highway 97, on the west side of Kalamalka Lake. BC Parks describes a beautiful bay, a campground with lake views, landscaped grassy areas, and a heavily used boat launch on a popular boating and waterskiing lake.
The park boundary is two kilometres from the Highway 97 turnoff, with the campground one kilometre beyond that.
Kekuli Bay Park is a practical Okanagan base for camping, boating, and lake views. All campsites offer views of Kalamalka Lake, and the planted campground trees have matured enough to provide more shade and privacy, especially in upper loops.
The Okanagan Rail Trail crosses the park near the water, making walking and cycling easy north and south along Kalamalka Lake. Within the park, BC Parks lists 2.6 kilometres of gently sloped gravel walking trails through grassland around the campground.
Lake activities include canoeing, kayaking, fishing, waterskiing, and rocky-area swimming near an active train track and boat launch. Wildlife viewing includes lake viewpoints, benches near the playground, and spring and fall birdwatching.
Plan around frontcountry camping, boat launch use, waterskiing, canoeing, kayaking, fishing with posted speed and vessel restrictions, walking the campground trails, cycling the Okanagan Rail Trail, lake photography, and Learn to Fish programs.
Parking is limited in summer, especially for trail users. The campground still has limited shade, though lake breezes help in the evening. Use caution near the active train track, boat launch, and rocky swimming area.
