Inkaneep Park | British Columbia

Inkaneep Park is six kilometres north of Oliver on Highway 97, set among tall riverside cottonwoods in a residential area. BC Parks describes it as a small park with excellent birdwatching and a campground best suited to tenters and small RVs.

Most sites do not accommodate large RVs or fifth-wheel trailers.

Why Visit Inkaneep Park

Inkaneep Park is a modest South Okanagan base for camping, birdwatching, river walks, and nearby exploring. Short trails lead from the campground to a section of dike on the Okanagan River, passing old-growth cottonwoods and healthy riparian vegetation.

The park itself has few recreation opportunities, but its location works well for visitors exploring the Oliver area. BC Parks points to nearby hiking and biking trails, climbing opportunities, golf, backroad rides to wineries, and the International Hike and Bike Trail on the far side of the river.

Inkaneep also has a significant conservation role. The park protects red-listed antelope brush, old-growth cottonwood, and Red three-awn grass. Birdlife includes species associated with dense riverside thickets and South Okanagan riparian habitat. BC Parks notes the park often has sites available even during peak periods.

Things To Do

Plan around small-site frontcountry camping, birdwatching, short Okanagan River dike walks, canoeing, kayaking, fishing where regulations allow, road cycling, nearby winery rides, and using the park as an affordable Oliver-area base.

Planning Notes

Use caution when hiking because poison ivy is abundant. Pets must be leashed, e-bikes are restricted to park roads and motorized-use areas, and larger RVs may not fit many campsites.
