Eskers Park is a day-use park 40 kilometres northwest of Prince George. BC Parks says the 3,979 hectare park conserves part of the 40 kilometre Stuart River Eskers Complex, a landscape of long, sinuous gravel ridges formed by glacial meltwater.

The park has gently rolling terrain, many small lakes, and year-round low-impact recreation.

Why Visit Eskers Park

Eskers is a strong day-use choice for hiking, nature study, flat-water canoeing, fishing, wildlife viewing, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. BC Parks lists 15 kilometres of marked trails connecting Pine Marsh, Camp Lake, and Kathie Lake.

Circle Lake is suited to families learning flat-water canoeing, while portage trails connect some smaller lakes between Camp and Kathie Lakes. Camp and Kathie Lakes offer rainbow trout and brook trout fishing, Camp Lake also has kokanee, and winter ice fishing is available.

In winter, the summer hiking trails become snowshoeing and cross-country skiing routes. A three kilometre beginner loop starts near Pine Marsh parking, and a six kilometre trail leads to Kathie Lake. Jago's field may have ski tracks set, but other tracks are not provided.

Things To Do

Plan around marked hiking trails, esker landform study, canoeing, portages, trout and kokanee fishing, ice fishing, wildlife viewing, cycling on designated routes, signed e-biking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and tobogganing near Prince George.

Planning Notes

Fires, snowmobiles, and ATVs are not permitted. Obey speed limits on rough roads, leash pets, check fishing and hunting rules, and remember only portions of the Taginchil Lake area are open to hunting.
