Dahl Lake Park | British Columbia

Dahl Lake Park is a BC Parks day-use park 40 kilometres southwest of Prince George. BC Parks describes a wilderness atmosphere within an hour's drive of the city, with rustic picnic facilities, a sandy beach, short walking trail, canoeing, and wildlife viewing.

The park is day use only; overnight camping and fires are prohibited.

Why Visit Dahl Lake Park

Dahl Lake is a practical day trip for picnicking, paddling, fishing, wildlife viewing, and winter outings. A 300 metre trail connects Norman and Dahl Lakes from the south end of the Norman Lake beach, and a rough route continues along the north shore of Dahl Lake.

Paddlers reach Dahl Lake by launching at the east end of Norman Lake, paddling about 300 metres south along the shoreline to the creek, then continuing east through the channel about 200 metres into Dahl Lake. Motorized boats are prohibited on Dahl Lake.

Norman Lake has been stocked with rainbow trout in the past, and Dahl Lake has moderate fishing potential, including winter ice fishing. Wildlife values include moose, black bear, wolf, coyote, fox, beaver, otter, muskrat, geese, ducks, loons, owls, eagles, and osprey.

Things To Do

Plan around day-use picnicking, sandy beach time at Norman Lake, short trail walks, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, wildlife viewing, bird watching, roadway cycling, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing without tracks, nearby snowmobile routes, and winter ice fishing.

Planning Notes

Bring drinking water because potable water is not available. Do not camp or have fires, keep motors off Dahl Lake, keep bikes and e-bikes to permitted routes, respect spring shoreline bird use, and check fishing and hunting regulations before travelling.
