Bromley Rock Park is a tiny BC Parks site on the Similkameen River, 21 kilometres east of Princeton on Highway 3. BC Parks says a striking rock bluff provides the park's focus, and hiking in the area gives good views of the Similkameen Valley.
The campsites sit in a pleasant forested area along the river.
Bromley Rock is a compact river campground for travellers who want a Highway 3 stop with swimming, tubing, paddling, and valley scenery. Tubing is popular here, with a downstream route toward Stemwinder Park.
The river also makes the park a known kayaking starting point on the Similkameen. BC Parks says canoes and kayaks must be portaged to the river, and spring conditions are best. Swimming is available in the Similkameen River, but currents change and there are no swim buoys or ropes.
The forested campsites keep the small park useful for overnight Highway 3 travel.
Anglers can fish here with special attention to regulations. BC Parks notes a bait ban on the Similkameen River from April 1 to October 31, and wild rainbow trout must be released from this area.
Plan around frontcountry camping, Similkameen River swimming, tubing toward Stemwinder Park, spring kayaking starts, fishing under bait-ban and release rules, short hikes for valley views, road cycling, and pets on leash.
The closest stores are in Hedley about 15 kilometres east or Princeton 21 kilometres west, and the park has no phone. Diving from cliffs across the river from the beach is prohibited.
