Blue/Dease Rivers Ecological Reserve is a BC Parks ecological reserve in the Skeena East region, 32 kilometres west of Lower Post and 2.5 kilometres west of Highway 37. BC Parks says it was established as a research area containing a variety of communities in the Boreal White and Black Spruce Zone.
The official page lists the terrestrial ecosection as Liard Plain.
Use official maps and boundaries; keep visits non-destructive and research focused.
Keep travel light.
Blue/Dease Rivers is an ecological reserve, not a conventional recreation park. BC Parks explains that ecological reserves protect special natural ecosystems and support research and education. They are not intended for outdoor recreation.
The reserve is open to the public for non-destructive activities such as hiking, nature observation, and photography. That makes it relevant for careful visitors interested in northern boreal plant communities, Liard Plain context, and ecological-reserve rules near Highway 37.
The restrictions are essential. BC Parks says consumptive activities such as hunting, fishing, camping, and foraging are prohibited, and motorized vehicles are not allowed. Research and educational activities require a permit, and the official page links to a detailed reserve description.
Plan around non-destructive hiking, boreal nature observation, photography, Boreal White and Black Spruce study, Liard Plain context, map review, and research or education permit checks.
Confirm access, legal boundaries, ecological-reserve rules, prohibited activities, motorized-vehicle restrictions, permit requirements, weather, maps, seasonal conditions, and BC Parks updates before travelling.
