Bijoux Falls Park | British Columbia

Bijoux Falls Park is a BC Parks day-use park in the Omineca region, 44 kilometres north of McLeod Lake on Highway 97. BC Parks describes it as an easily accessible highway rest stop with a view of Bijoux Falls.

Toilets, picnic tables, and garbage receptacles are provided.

Why Visit Bijoux Falls Park

Bijoux Falls is a short, practical stop for waterfall viewing, photography, picnicking, and a highway break between northern BC communities. BC Parks says the park offers excellent photography opportunities and a pleasant rest stop.

The visitor experience is intentionally simple. There are no developed trails, but visitors can walk around the area. Wildlife viewing is tied to the fenced waterfall viewing area, and BC Parks notes a large summer population of Steller's jays. Flowers, trees, and shrubs are part of the park's natural heritage and should not be damaged or removed.

Safety rules are direct. Visitors should not go beyond the fence facing the falls because the area is hazardous. There is no potable water, firearms are not permitted, the park is closed to hunting, campfires are not allowed, and alcohol consumption in public areas is prohibited.

Things To Do

Plan around waterfall viewing, photography, picnic-table stops, short walks, summer bird observation, Highway 97 rest breaks, and careful appreciation of the fenced Bijoux Falls viewpoint.

Planning Notes

Bring drinking water. The park is not maintained in winter and may become inaccessible depending on weather, though it remains open. Stay behind the fence, leash pets, avoid feeding wildlife, and check BC Parks updates.
