Beatton Park | British Columbia

Beatton Park is a BC Parks site on Charlie Lake, 13 kilometres northwest of Fort St. John off Highway 97 on 244 Road. BC Parks describes it as a 320 hectare, year-round recreational facility and a popular summer destination for swimming, fishing, and hiking.

The park also has a substantial winter trail network.

Why Visit Beatton Park

Beatton is a four-season Peace region park for camping, beach time, paddling, fishing, hiking, winter skiing, snowshoeing, and tobogganing. BC Parks lists 12 kilometres of hiking trails through the park and a beach with a marked swimming area.

Canoes and kayaks are welcome on Charlie Lake, though there are no rentals in the park. Fishing opportunities include walleye and northern pike. Summer cycling is allowed on roadways, and cross-country ski trails are available to mountain bikers in summer, while e-bikes are restricted to roads and motorized-use areas.

In winter, Beatton offers more than 15 kilometres of groomed cross-country ski trails for beginner, intermediate, and advanced skiers. BC Parks also notes an extensive designated snowshoe trail, a toboggan hill, and Charlie Lake ice-fishing opportunities.
