Adams Lake Park - Bush Creek Site is a BC Parks site on the southwestern shore of Adams Lake, 15 kilometres from Highway 1 at Squilax and east of Kamloops. BC Parks says the closest communities are Scotch Creek, Sorrento, Salmon Arm, Kamloops, and Chase.
The official page describes a pleasant beach area with lightly forested upland, popular for fishing and boating.
Bush Creek Site is a practical Adams Lake base for visitors who want beach time, boating, fishing, and a simple camping stop with few facilities. BC Parks says visitors should be self-sufficient campers and bring their own water because potable water is not available in the park.
The campground has a natural sand and pebble beach on Adams Lake, with no roped-off swimming area. Canoeing and kayaking are available, and Adams Lake has waterskiing and windsurfing opportunities. Fishing is popular for kokanee and rainbow trout.
The park also has a small heritage and conservation story. BC Parks notes known archaeological sites, establishment for recreational use in 1988, park designation in 1997, and shoreline and mixed forest protection, including aspen, birch, willow, Douglas fir, and cedar.
Plan around beach camping, boating, canoeing, kayaking, kokanee and rainbow trout fishing, swimming, waterskiing, windsurfing, scuba diving, cycling on roads, and lake viewpoints from Adams Lake West Road.
Adams Lake is large and subject to strong wind gusts. Use caution on Adams Lake West Forest Service Road because of heavy logging truck traffic, remove weeds from boats to help prevent Eurasian water milfoil spread, and confirm overnight parking rules.
