BC Geographical Names records Errington as an official community and notes its post office adoption in the mid twentieth century. Errington itself is worth slowing down for if you like rural Vancouver Island landscapes. Look for public community spaces, local markets or events when they are operating, and leave private farms and yards alone. Coombs and Parksville add services, but Errington’s own appeal is its mix of settlement, forest and river access.
