White Earth Valley Natural Area is an Alberta Parks natural area in the North region, 30 kilometres northwest of Smoky Lake. Alberta Parks lists no developed day-use area count.
The official page highlights the 17-kilometre White Earth Trail.
White Earth Valley is a trail-focused natural area with rich habitat, wildlife viewing, multi-use trails, and two access patterns. Alberta Parks says the White Earth Trail winds through a wide variety of rich habitats with diverse plants and wildlife.
Activities include canoeing and kayaking, front-country hiking, equestrian use, hunting, wildlife viewing, and geocaching. Canoeing and kayaking carry aquatic invasive species reminders.
Access changes by season. During Long Lake Provincial Park's operating season, May to October, the natural area is accessible from the adjacent Long Lake day-use area with parking at the trailhead. Year-round access is also available from Township Road 621 at the southern end of the natural area.
Equestrian users have multi-use trails but no equestrian facilities. Hunters should note Alberta Parks' small-area warning and potential conflicts with other recreational users.
The multiple access points make it important to decide pickup, parking, and turnaround plans before starting, especially with horses or hunting seasons. Carry current maps.
Plan around the 17-kilometre White Earth Trail, hiking, wildlife viewing, geocaching, equestrian use without facilities, hunting checks, paddling precautions, and habitat observation.
