Two Lakes Provincial Park is an Alberta Parks provincial park in the North region, 140 kilometres southwest of Grande Prairie on Two Lakes Road. Alberta Parks lists two day-use areas and three campgrounds.
The official page warns that the industrial gravel road to the park is often rough and recommends four-wheel-drive vehicles.
Two Lakes is a remote northern Rockies foothills park with trout lakes, camping, hiking, wildlife viewing, boating, and winter use. Alberta Parks highlights a self-guided trail through forests and meadows between the two lakes, plus three more challenging trails to scenic views.
Activities include camping, canoeing and kayaking, fishing, front-country hiking, ice fishing, mountain biking and cycling, power boating, wildlife viewing, backcountry hiking, geocaching, and electric bicycles.
Both lakes are stocked with trout, but boating rules differ. Boat speed is limited to 12 kilometres per hour on South Lake, while power vessels are prohibited on North Lake.
Wildlife viewing is a major reason to visit. Alberta Parks notes summer and winter elk range, nesting osprey and loons, and black and grizzly bears around the lakeshore in spring, summer, and fall. Horse and OHV use are prohibited inside the park, though trails are nearby.
Plan around remote camping, trout fishing, paddling, South Lake slow boating, North Lake non-power use, hiking between lakes, scenic trails, wildlife viewing, biking, and geocaching.
Confirm road conditions, four-wheel-drive needs, campground status, boating limits, AIS precautions, fishing rules, horse and OHV prohibitions, maps, weather, and Alberta Parks updates.
