The Narrows Provincial Recreation Area is an Alberta Parks recreation area in the Central region, west of Stettler near Buffalo Lake. Alberta Parks lists one campground and no developed day-use area count.
The official page says the campground is first come, first served and is built along a narrow channel connecting two portions of Buffalo Lake.
The Narrows is a tree-surrounded RV and tent campground with a channel setting that works well for shore fishing, paddling, birding, and family-friendly water observation. Alberta Parks says the channel is good for young anglers and paddlers.
Activities include birding, camping, canoeing and kayaking, fishing, and geocaching. Canoeing and kayaking carry aquatic invasive species reminders, so paddlers should clean, drain, and dry gear.
Fishing is shore-focused. Alberta Parks lists five fishing nodes along the channel and says shoreline fishing is catch-and-release only. Birders can watch reeds along the channel flowing into Buffalo Lake.
Wildflowers are another seasonal highlight. Alberta Parks notes yellow lady's slipper orchids in the back section of the campground, blooming in late May and early June, and reminds visitors not to pick rare plants.
Because campsites are first come, arrival timing can matter as much as the activity plan during busy periods.
Plan around first-come camping, channel paddling, catch-and-release shore fishing, birding in shoreline reeds, geocaching, orchid photography, and campground-map review.
