Ram Falls Provincial Park is an Alberta Parks provincial park in the Central region, 64 kilometres south of Nordegg on Forestry Trunk Road and 96 kilometres southwest of Rocky Mountain House. Alberta Parks lists one day-use area, one campground, and one group-use area.
The official page says bighorn sheep are likely along the road into the park.
Ram Falls is a waterfall, camping, and wildlife-viewing park in a remote foothills setting. Alberta Parks says visitors can spend a day at picnic areas with fire pits and benches, walk trails, and catch waterfall views. Vault toilets are available throughout the park.
Activities include camping, fishing, front-country hiking, wildlife viewing, and geocaching. Alberta Parks also notes backcountry skiing only, with no developed cross-country ski trails in the park. Hunting is prohibited because the park is a wildlife sanctuary, and OHV use is prohibited within park boundaries.
Practical planning matters here. Alberta Parks says there is no drinking water or firewood on site, the gravel road to Ram Falls can be rough, the nearest gas station is in Nordegg about 65 kilometres away, and cellphone reception is very limited.
Current closures are important. The Ram Falls viewing platform and stairs are closed until further notice because of poor structure condition, and visitors must stay behind barriers.
