North Bruderheim Provincial Recreation Area | Alberta

North Bruderheim Provincial Recreation Area is an Alberta Parks recreation area in the Central region, 15 kilometres northwest of Bruderheim. Alberta Parks lists no developed day-use area count and no campground.

The official page says the main parking area is off Range Road 205.

Why Visit North Bruderheim Provincial Recreation Area

North Bruderheim is a day-use recreation area focused on designated off-highway vehicle trails, hunting, and geocaching. Alberta Parks says it is a popular location for OHV use, which is permitted on designated trails.

Rules and safety notices shape almost every visit. Alberta Parks says there are no toilet facilities or waste disposal options, so visitors must pack out what they pack in. Fires are prohibited because of wildfire threat, target shooting is prohibited, and when an OHV restriction is in place, OHV use is not permitted in the area.

The official activity note says OHV use is not permitted on roads or road rights-of-way in the provincial recreation area. Hunters require firearms discharge permits to hunt game species. North Bruderheim is day use only, and overnight stays are not permitted.

A 2026 closure notice also warns that multiple unauthorized structures have been closed due to safety concerns; visitors should not use those structures or bypass closures.

Things To Do

Plan around designated OHV trails, geocaching, permitted hunting checks, Range Road 205 parking, closure awareness, fire-ban compliance, and low-service day-use planning.

Planning Notes

Confirm OHV restrictions, designated-trail rules, fire bans, firearm permits, no-overnight rules, closure notices, maps, weather, and Alberta Parks updates.
