Long Lake Provincial Park | Alberta

Long Lake Provincial Park is an Alberta Parks provincial park in the North region, 20 kilometres south of Boyle on Highway 831 and two kilometres northeast on the access road. Alberta Parks lists one day-use area, one campground, and two group-use areas.

The park is a popular full-amenity lake destination with an onsite concession.

Why Visit Long Lake Provincial Park

Long Lake is a family-friendly lake park for beach days, boating, camping, trails, and winter recreation. Alberta Parks describes opportunities for canoeing, boating, wind surfing, water skiing, sailing, and fishing on the lake, along with a day trip to the beach or a week-long camping getaway.

Activities include camping, canoeing and kayaking, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, fishing, front-country hiking, horseshoes, ice fishing, mountain biking and cycling, power boating, sailing, off-site snowmobiling, swimming, water skiing, wind surfing, birding, geocaching, and electric bicycles.

The official page adds practical extras: the booth sells firewood and ice, the concession sells ice cream, food, and other goods, and boat rentals for canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards are located in the main day-use area.

Nearby attractions extend the trip. Long Lake Ski Area and a nine-hole golf course are adjacent to the park. The White Earth Trail in adjacent White Earth Valley Natural Area can be accessed during operating season from near Campground Loop F, with another year-round access point from Township Road 621.
