Kleskun Hills Provincial Park is an Alberta Parks provincial park in the North region, 20 kilometres east and five kilometres north of Grande Prairie. The official page lists one day-use area and points visitors to nearby Kleskun Hill Natural Area for campground information.
Alberta Parks says the park rises 100 metres above the plains around Grande Prairie.
Kleskun Hills protects the largest parcel of native upland prairie vegetation remaining in Peace Country. Exposed badland hillsides, wildflowers, and broad countryside views make it a distinctive stop for visitors comparing northern Alberta grassland parks.
The official page describes eroded hills, an everchanging tapestry of wildflowers, southern species such as prickly pear cactus, rare birds, butterflies, and views over the surrounding countryside. Wildlife viewing notes list grassland and parkland plants and animals including western meadowlarks, upland sandpipers, vesper sparrows, prickly pear cactus, and wildflowers.
Activities include front-country hiking, wildlife viewing, birding, no-fires use, and hunting. Hunting is specific here: Alberta Parks says it is permitted in Kleskun Hills Provincial Park from November 1 to January 31, but it requires a Firearm Discharge Permit, and WMU 357 regulations apply during the permit period. Hunting is not permitted in the adjacent Kleskun Hill Campground and Museum site.
Because the park is closely paired with Kleskun Hill Natural Area, check the official map before deciding where to park, walk, camp, or visit the museum.
Plan around day use, front-country hiking, birding, wildlife viewing, prairie and badlands photography, wildflower observation, permit-based hunting checks, and adjacent campground planning.
