Why Visit Carson-Pegasus Provincial Park

Carson-Pegasus is a boreal lake camping park with a broad activity list. Alberta Parks describes Carson-Pegasus Campground as nestled in trees beside a quiet lake, with relaxation and recreation in northern Alberta's boreal forest.

Visitors can fish from the province's only lakeside sea-wall, paddle McLeod Lake, explore hiking and biking trails, or spend a beach day in clear water. The campground offers two playgrounds and a range of sites for RVs and tents.

Activities include beach use, birding, camping, canoeing and kayaking, fishing, front-country hiking, ice fishing, power boating, off-site snowmobiling, swimming, wildlife viewing, mountain biking and cycling, and fat biking. Alberta Parks also names birds such as loons, grebes, goshawks, ruffed grouse, great horned owls, pileated woodpeckers, blue jays, grey jays, chickadees, grosbeaks, and crossbills.

That range lets visitors build either a quiet lake weekend or a more active trail-and-water itinerary.
