Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park | Alberta

Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park is an Alberta Parks provincial park in Kananaskis. Alberta Parks says a Kananaskis Conservation Pass is required to park a vehicle in Kananaskis and the Bow Valley.

The centre was developed to host the 1988 Olympic Winter Games and is described by Alberta Parks as one of the best places on earth for cross-country skiing.

Why Visit Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park

Canmore Nordic Centre is a year-round trail and training hub. Alberta Parks lists two day-use areas and facilities including a Visitor Information Centre, a cafe, and a rental and retail store.

In winter, more than 65 kilometres of groomed machine-made and natural trails support classic and skate skiing, with trail fees in effect during winter season. Frozen Thunder is an early-season ski trail made from stored machine-made snow. The biathlon range has 30 firing lanes with Kurvinen electronic targets, and lanes must be prebooked by a Range Safety Officer.

In summer, the official activity page highlights over 100 kilometres of trails, mountain biking, a skills park, hiking and trail running, disc golf, orienteering, roller skiing, and roller biathlon. Grassi Lakes is named as the park's most popular hiking trail.

Things To Do
