Live the legend of the Waterfalls Route
Drink in the wonder of landscapes that rival any in the world, on a driving trip along the Waterfalls Route in the Northwest Territories. These waterfalls are all accessible by road, and feature scenic viewpoints and excellent camping facilities. The Waterfalls Route extends 400 km along the Mackenzie Highway in northern Canada. Drive yourself or take a bus tour. Keep an eye out for wildlife, too - moose, bison and bears, foxes, beavers and multitudes of birds.
The Route starts at the Northwest Territories/Alberta border, taking in the magnificent twin falls, Alexandra and Louise Falls. Then move on to McNallie Creek, followed by stunning Lady Evelyn Falls. To the west is Sambaa Deh Falls, grand finale of the Waterfalls Route. Well-maintained Territorial Parks enhance your vacation. Enjoy picnic facilities, walking trails, viewpoints and interpretive signage, plus great fishing and excellent campgrounds.
